Modeling and Managing the Value Chain - Getting Started with Metrics

This Brown Bag Lunch series is an introduction to describing, analyzing, measuring, and improving value chains.  Sessions combine instruction and discussion to explore basic value chain concepts, definitions, and resources.

Your colleagues in the brown bag series are likely to represent a wide-range of disciplines and industries with varied skill sets.  Business unit managers will interact with buyers, planners, and material managers. The sessions are designed to familiarize attendees with concepts and resources.

After the workshop, attendees are expected to be able to identify resources and strategies to:

  • Establish value chain performance goals and a methodology for achieving those goals

  • Identify, describe, and communicate value chain operations including major processes and stakeholders

  • Identify candidate metrics (KPIs) for internal performance measurement and external (supplier-customer) collaboration

  • Develop frameworks and strategy for selecting performance-based consulting and technology partners

Prior to the first session, you will download course materials which include: workshop administrative information, workshop syllabus, presentation materials.  Workshop attendees normally exchange contact information and the exchange of that information will be facilitated (but attendee contact information is not available for sale or distribution).
